1:72 JMSDF Hyuga (DDH 181) Deck depicts the flight deck of the Japanese helicopter destroyer and serves as a base for displaying models in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This base carries the motif of the flight deck of the unit DDH 181 of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. It is not a kit of the ship but an area on which you stand a finished model and give it a setting at once. The Deck label in the name refers to a continuous part of the deck, not to a lift platform.
The Hyuga is the lead unit of the class of the same name and she entered service in 2009. Although the Japanese classification lists her as a destroyer, her layout corresponds to a carrier: the deck runs the whole length and the command block stands on the right. The focus of her service lies in operating helicopters, in anti-submarine work and in the roles of a command and rescue ship during disasters.
Modern decks look cool and graphic in shots, which is helped by soft diffuse light with no harsh shadows. Set the lens low over the surface, so that the perspective matches a view from the deck. The base also suits being a permanent bed for a model in a cabinet, where it protects the wheels and skids from direct contact with the shelf.
This is a presentation accessory. You stand your own finished model on the area; no machine is enclosed in the consignment.
