A plastic kit of the German heavy gun of 15 cm caliber under the designation sIG 33 in 1:72 scale, in the form for horse traction.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sIG 33 gun of 15 cm caliber was among the heaviest weapons that the German infantry had directly with them in the Second World War. It was not aimed at distant targets the way the artillery behind the front was; it accompanied its own units and broke up whatever stood in their way: fortified positions, masonry buildings and obstacles. A high caliber with a short barrel meant a heavy shell over a short distance and a steep trajectory. The price for that was the weight, which had to be reckoned with in the field.
The name of the item specifies the version drawn by a horse team. The German army was far from fully motorized and a considerable part of the artillery moved by horse throughout the war. The model therefore captures the gun in the form in which it most often served with the infantry divisions. The extent of the parts and exactly what the package contains are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Besides the individual model, the gun is also offered as the center of a smaller scene with a crew and ammunition.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Prepare the small parts of the carriage and the wheels only just before gluing; in this scale they are slender and easily lost. Dry fit the parts and only then glue them, and with the wheels watch that the gun finally stands straight. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface, apply the paint in thin coats and add dust and deposits of earth only at the end.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
