This resin Quickboost set in 1:72 scale brings finely cast exhaust pipes for the versions of the Junkers Ju 188 powered by V engines. It is an aftermarket detail part, not a whole model – it replaces the corresponding plastic exhausts from the kit and markedly raises the accuracy of the engine nacelles. The set is meant for more advanced modelers used to working with resin.
The Junkers Ju 188 Rächer was a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War that grew out of the proven Ju 88. The versions with Junkers Jumo 213 V engines – inverted V12s – had characteristic short exhaust outlets along the engine cowlings. Cast resin exhausts offer sharper edges and hollow suggestions of the mouths that are hard to achieve in injection-molded plastic.
Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that the remains of the mold release disappear. Separate the parts from the casting block carefully with a saw or a sharp knife, never break them off. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand and cut with respiratory protection, because resin dust is harmful to health.
This is a resin detail part, not a standalone model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
