This resin set from the Quickboost brand, made by the Czech manufacturer Aires, brings faithfully cast VS 11 wooden propellers for a model of the German night fighter Junkers Ju 88G-6 in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers, replacing the propellers from the plastic kit with a casting that has thin blades and the faithful profile of the broad-bladed wooden propellers of late aircraft.
The Junkers Ju 88G was the night fighter version of the universal German twin-engine Ju 88, used at the end of the Second World War to defend the airspace of the Reich. To save strategic metals, late Ju 88G-6 aircraft received broad-bladed VS 11 wooden propellers with characteristically massive blades.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the cut surfaces with your airways protected. Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate), not with plastic cement. The thin blades are fragile, so handle them with care.
The set is supplied as a resin part, unassembled and unpainted. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for a plastic kit. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
