An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Kfz.305 ambulance in 1:72 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The model captures the ambulance version on the chassis of the Opel Blitz truck, with a closed box body for carrying the wounded in place of the usual load bed. The exact contents and the marking options of a particular boxing are given in the instructions in the box.
The Kfz.305 was the ambulance version of the widespread German Opel Blitz truck. A tall closed box body was mounted on the proven three-ton chassis, and the wounded were carried inside on stretchers or seated. The vehicle accompanied German units on every front and counted among the important medical vehicles of the rear areas and the front line alike. The Kfz.305 designation covered a whole family of special bodies on the Opel Blitz chassis; the ambulance variant usually carried Red Cross markings. The rugged and easily repaired Opel Blitz chassis gave the vehicle reliability even in the demanding conditions of the Eastern Front and North Africa.
On a wheeled vehicle, take care to seat the axles properly and to line the wheels up so that the model stands straight. The tall box body is a rewarding surface for a clean finish and Red Cross markings: apply the decals over a gloss clear coat so that they do not go dull. Liven up the base coat of Dunkelgelb or gray with shading and with drybrushing on the edges. Dust and mud pigments on the wheels, fenders and lower areas will give the vehicle a used look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
