This set holds resin ejection seats in the late version for the two-seat cockpit of the L-29 Delfin trainer in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail accessory from Aires that replaces the simplified seats from the plastic kit with more faithfully cast parts with fine texture and relief of the belts. It is not an airplane model but an accessory meant to raise the detail of the interior.
The L-29 Delfin is a Czechoslovak jet trainer from the end of the 1950s that became the standard basic trainer of the Warsaw Pact air forces. It was built in large numbers and served for decades. The cockpits of the instructor and the pupil were arranged in tandem and fitted with ejection seats; the late production series differed in the pattern of the seats.
First wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces down with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). We recommend a primer undercoat, then the base shade, picking out the belts and a fine wash into the recesses so that the detail reads.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin parts. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
