Laptops in 1:72 scale are small scenic props for present-day dioramas — stand-alone objects of a scene, neither a kit nor parts for a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A portable computer is a detail that dates a scene to the present day at once. On the table of a command post, in an office, in the back area of a workshop or on the hood of a vehicle it acts as a small thing, but it tells a viewer unambiguously what period the scene takes place in. In 1:72 scale these are very small stand-alone objects of a scene — it is neither a kit nor parts to be fitted to another model.
It comes into its own in modern military as well as civilian scenes: at a workplace, in a tented headquarters, in a servicing area, in an office or in a domestic interior. They work well paired with a figure at a table and combined with other office equipment, because only several small things together create the impression of a real workplace.
Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. With objects this small the key is not to clog the detail — use thin coats and a brush with a good point. Paint the body dark gray or silver-gray and the display gloss black; it is precisely the sheen that sets the screen apart from the rest and makes it believable. You can suggest a lit display with a thin coat of a light shade on the lower part of the screen. The keyboard only needs to be suggested with a dark wash, as individual keys are not painted in 1:72. Glue in spots with cyanoacrylate glue.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
