An injection-molded plastic model in 1:72 scale of the Czech single-seat sporting glider Let L-33 Solo. The Over Europe boxing offers decals for several European operators. It is a small short-run kit and an interesting, unusual addition to a collection of engineless aircraft.
The Let L-33 Solo is a single-seat glider developed in Kunovice, which first flew in the early 1990s and was built as a finished, ready-to-fly sailplane. It served for training and recreational soaring and, thanks to its rugged structure, spread to a number of flying clubs in Europe and overseas. As an engineless machine it is launched by winch or by aerotow.
Given the small dimensions and the slender parts, go carefully — dry-fit the wings and the cockpit and glue them with thin cement. Mask the canopy glazing. Gliders tend to be in bright, contrasting colors, so a good base and an airbrush pay off; large areas can be finished by polishing and lightly picking out the edges. A simple stand for display suits it too.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
