The M-8-24 rocket launcher in 1:72 scale in the version with printed parts. The printed parts are cut from the print supports and glued with super glue.
Responsibility details are not available.
The version of the M-8-24 rocket launcher set in 1:72 scale that includes printed parts. A weapon of this kind fired rockets from launch rails and was meant for salvo fire against an area target. What counted was the effect of the whole salvo rather than the accuracy of a single round, and once it had fired the position had to be left quickly. The assembly can be placed beside a vehicle model or in a scene on a base.
The printed parts are not polystyrene, so you will not join them with solvent cement for plastic; use super glue, applied best with the tip of a wire. The parts are held by print supports. Cut them with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest off carefully, because a support snapped off right at the surface leaves a dimple behind. Thin printed parts tend to be more brittle than plastic, so handle them with tweezers and do not bend them dry.
Before painting, wash and degrease the parts and let them dry thoroughly, otherwise the paint holds poorly on the smooth surface. A unifying undercoat makes it easier to judge the shape and reveals the places that still need sanding. Do not flood the launch rails with a heavy coat; thin paint, a shadow in the recesses and a light lift on the edges show far more at this scale than a thick layer.
For modelers who want finer shapes on armament in 1:72 scale and do not mind slower work with small parts.
