This set is a resin accessory in 1:72 scale, not an airplane model. It holds faithful castings of Martin-Baker GRUEA-7 ejection seats with well-rendered harnesses, handles and structure, meant to replace the simpler plastic seats in kits of the A-6E Intruder and EA-6A carrier aircraft. A resin casting offers a crispness and depth of detail that tell strongly in a small scale. The set is intended for more experienced modelers.
The Martin-Baker ejection seat of the GRUEA-7 series served in American carrier aircraft derived from the A-6 type, including the electronic warfare versions. It was a rugged seat for saving the crew across the whole range of flight regimes. An accurately rendered seat tends to be one of the most conspicuous details of an open cockpit.
These are resin parts for advanced modelers. Wash the castings free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It pays to paint the seats and bring out the harnesses separately, off the model.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
