A resin ejection seat set of the Martin-Baker Mk F7 type, made for versions of the F-8 fighter in 1:72 scale from Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for improving a plastic kit. The set replaces the simplified seat from the box with a precisely cast part carrying accurate relief on the shell, the harness and the controls.
An ejection seat lets the pilot leave the aircraft in an emergency in the event of an accident. Seats from the British maker Martin-Baker are among the most widespread in the world and were fitted in a number of combat aircraft. The Mk F7 form was used in the F-8 Crusader carrier fighter.
Wash the part to remove any mold release agent, separate it from the casting block and dry-fit it against the cockpit tub. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding resin. The busy seat and the harness come out once painted with an airbrush, drybrushed and brought up with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
