An accessory for models of military vehicles in 1:72 scale: the French MAC 31 machine gun with its conspicuous drum magazine.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MAC 31 is a French machine gun of 7.5 mm caliber from the beginning of the 1930s, intended for enclosed spaces. Its recognizable mark is the drum magazine carried at the side of the weapon, which replaced the belt feed unsuited to the cramped interior of a vehicle. The weapon was mounted in French armored vehicles and in fixed fortifications, where it served as coaxial as well as stand-alone armament for embrasures.
The accessory replaces the coarser weapon from a kit or adds armament where a model offers none. In 1:72 scale this is a very small part, so work over a tray with raised edges, to keep it from getting away from you. The extent of the package and the number of pieces are given by the supplier.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the rest back with fine abrasive paper, so as not to sand the shape of the weapon away. Wash and degrease the part before painting, otherwise the finish will not hold on a smooth surface. Use cyanoacrylate glue, which will join even materials that polystyrene cement has no effect on. Lay the paint down in a thin coat, so that the fine relief of the magazine and of the barrel cooling jacket does not disappear. A dry brush in a lighter shade will bring the edges of the weapon out.
A weapon accessory is supplied. The vehicle model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
