The Su-27 exhaust nozzle mask set in 1:72 is a specialized set of self-adhesive templates from New Ware for a clean separation of the metallic shades of the nozzles from the rest of the airframe. It is not intended for the cockpit glazing.

A narrowly focused mask set for models of the Su-27 family in 1:72 scale. Unlike the usual sets for glazing, it deals with a single area: the engine exhaust nozzles and their surroundings. The package holds a carrier sheet with pre-cut self-adhesive shapes that follow the outline of that area on Zvezda kits. It is not a kit and not a set of replacement resin nozzles; it is an aid for the painting stage. The set has no BASIC and EXPERT levels, because it covers only one place on the model.
The nozzles are painted in metallic shades, and those behave differently from ordinary opaque paints. The pigment settles to the bottom and has to be stirred thoroughly, a metallic coat is hard to spray over and every correction shows on the finished surface. Metallic shades are therefore applied at the very end, when the rest of the model is finished and has to be reliably covered. Ordinary tape breaks up over the ring of the nozzle and ripples along the edge; cut film follows the circular outline exactly.
Finish the camouflage on the airframe first and let it harden; a mask should not be stuck to fresh paint. Seat the film dry, check that the outline matches the edge of the part and then press it down all the way around. Spray the metallic shade in thin coats and rather from a greater distance so that the pigment does not settle unevenly. Take the mask off shortly after drying, slowly and at a shallow angle. If you want to set the individual segments of the nozzle apart in shade, plan the order of the coats in advance.
The package holds only the masking templates. The kit, paints and replacement nozzle parts are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
