New Ware mask set for the Northrop X/YB-35 Flying Wing (1:72): precisely cut self-adhesive masks for comfortable, clean masking of the extensive glazing of this experimental flying wing when painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely cut self-adhesive New Ware masks for the model of the experimental American Northrop XB-35/YB-35 flying wing in 1:72 scale. On this aircraft the canopy glazing is recessed directly into the wing leading edge and is made up of a row of small, irregularly shaped panels, so masking it by hand is very hard work. The pre-cut masks turn the most demanding part of the build into a few minutes of work and guarantee perfectly sharp frame edges.
The XB-35 and the pre-production YB-35 were Jack Northrop's bold attempt at a heavy flying wing bomber. Dating from the late 1940s, the aircraft was powered by four piston engines driving contra-rotating pusher propellers and competed against the conventional B-36. The program was halted in the end, but the idea of the pure flying wing came back half a century later in the B-2 bomber.
For builders of unusual American prototypes who want to save hours of masking and get flawless glazing. On a model where the cockpit is the main focal point of an otherwise smooth wing, a clean spray on the frames is absolutely essential.
This is a masking accessory: the aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
