An add-on set of underwing cannon pods for models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 in the R6 armament fit, in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 was the most numerously built version of the German Bf 109 fighter. The R6 designation on it refers to an add-on armament: a pair of pods with a cannon was mounted under the wings, which increased firepower against bombers. For that advantage the machine paid with higher drag and worse agility, so it was flown with the pods only where the task called for it.
Add-on underwing pods for a model of the Bf 109G-6 in the R6 armament fit, in 1:72 scale. The set replaces parts from a plastic kit, or adds the armament where the kit does not offer it. The number of parts and the kit the set is intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are not polystyrene, so cement for polystyrene does not work on them; they are glued with cyanoacrylate. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the rest, so that the mating surface stays flat. Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent and degrease them before painting. While gluing, check that both pods make the same angle with the wing and are symmetrically spaced from the fuselage; asymmetry shows at a glance from the front on a finished model. It works well to glue the pods on only once the lower surfaces of the wing are painted.
The set is intended for modelers who are building the Bf 109G-6 in 1:72 scale and want to capture precisely the version with the add-on underwing armament.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
