1:72 Meteor F.8/FR.9 national insignias and markings is a masking set for the markings of the first Allied jet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
Roundels, bars and additional markings arise directly in paint, so the worry about a decal tearing on curved areas falls away. The set is prepared for the F.8 and FR.9 versions in 1:72 scale.
The Gloster Meteor was the only Allied jet aircraft to reach combat service during the Second World War, and it became famous for chasing V-1 flying bombs over southern England. The postwar F.8 version received a lengthened fuselage, a revised vertical tail and an ejection seat and became the backbone of the British fighter defense at the beginning of the 1950s. Australian pilots took it into the fighting in Korea. The reconnaissance FR.9 carried cameras in the nose and supplemented it where photographs from low altitude had to be brought back. The type spread to a number of further countries, so it offers an unusually varied palette of color schemes.
Spray the light component of an insignia first and, once it has dried, lay the next mask on and add the colored fields. Leave enough time between coats, otherwise the lower color tears away along with the mask during peeling.
This is an accessory for painting; the plastic model has to be bought separately.
