1:72 MiG-21F-13 Export version is an injection-molded kit of the early Soviet supersonic fighter in the version for foreign operators.
Responsibility details are not available.
Kovozavody Prostejov have prepared an entirely new mold for the early version of the MiG-21 and are releasing it in several boxings with different finishes. This one carries the markings of machines delivered outside the Warsaw Pact states; sister boxings of the same mold cover production at Vodochody and operators from the Eastern Bloc. In the box there is injection-molded plastic and decals.
The F-13 version was the first truly widespread production form of the MiG-21. It was a day fighter without radar, with the R-11F-300 engine, a delta wing and a speed of more than twice the speed of sound. Its armament was one cannon of 30 mm caliber and a pair of infrared-guided missiles, whose development was hastened by the analysis of American materiel captured in the fighting over the Taiwan Strait. The aircraft went to dozens of countries from the Middle East to Africa and in many places was still in service in the 1990s.
Finish the cockpit and the nose gear bay first; once the fuselage is glued together you will not reach them again. Add weight to the slender nose, otherwise the model will settle on its tail. Apply the metallic shades on the exhaust nozzle as the very last step, as masking over them is difficult.
The kit is unassembled and unpainted; you will not find glue and paints in the package, unless stated otherwise.
