An injection-molded plastic model of the Soviet MiG-21PFM jet fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Kovozavody Prostejov. It is a modern production kit with decals for several finishes. The package contains plastic parts, a clear canopy part, decals and assembly instructions; the mold offers decent surface detail in the popular fighter scale of 1:72.
The MiG-21PFM was one of the widespread versions of the legendary Soviet delta-wing fighter, known in the West by the reporting name Fishbed. Compared with earlier versions it received a number of changes, including a revised canopy hinged to the side and improved equipment. It was a fast interceptor with missile armament that became one of the most widely produced jet aircraft in history and served in dozens of countries, including Czechoslovakia at the time.
Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic; with a production mold, test the fit dry and fill the seams where needed. Mask the cockpit before spraying. Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush; paint and fit the metallic and silver areas of the engine section as well as the external fuel tanks and the missiles according to the instructions.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
