Glazing masks for a MiG-25 model in 1:72 scale define the frames of the windscreen and of the sliding part of the cockpit of the Soviet interceptor.
Responsibility details are not available.
The covers are cut for the angular cockpit of the famous fast interceptor. A small area of glazing and thick frames are among the recognition marks of the type, and that is precisely why it pays to paint them through a stencil instead of outlining them laboriously.
The machine came about as an answer to American high-altitude and fast targets. The airframe is largely welded from nickel steel, because at high speeds the surface heats up strongly. Two massive R-15 engines allowed flight in the band around three times the speed of sound, albeit with great wear. The giant rectangular air intakes and the pair of vertical tails are characteristic. In the West the aircraft was known in detail only after one example landed in Japan in 1976.
The metal shades often used on this type are prone to fingerprints, so handle the model in gloves. Cover the frame in the cockpit shade first and only then in the silvery or gray finish. Mix metallic paints thoroughly and lay them on a smooth, well prepared base. Remove the covers before the finish hardens completely. Then let the finished model rest for at least a day, and only then fit the small protruding parts such as probes and tubes.
