MiG I-7U 1:72 is a plastic kit of the Soviet prototype supersonic interceptor from Modelsvit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet experimental supersonic I-7U interceptor in 1:72 scale. It is a short-run kit capturing a one-off prototype of the Mikoyan-Gurevich design bureau. The package holds plastic parts, a clear canopy part, decals and building instructions.
The I-7U was a Soviet prototype supersonic interceptor developed from the mid-1950s. It had a mid-set swept wing, a circular fuselage section and an adjustable shock cone in the nose intake. A single prototype was built, which first flew in 1957; after a series of test flights the program was closed. It was an interesting stage in the development of Soviet interceptors.
With a short-run kit, reckon on more sensitive fit; clean the parts up and try them dry. Finish the cockpit and the intake before closing the fuselage, bond with thin cement for plastic and sand the joins. Lay the metallic shades on with an airbrush over a smooth surface and apply the decals onto a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
