The Mil Mi-24 is a Soviet combat helicopter that combines assault armament with room for a squad of troops in the rear cabin. The Mi-24D version received a reworked nose with two separate cockpits set one above the other under individual canopies, which gave the type its unmistakable silhouette. Under the nose it carries a trainable gun turret, and on its stub wings pylons for armament.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. Sets of this kind improve the places by which a finished model is judged the most. The parts are not polystyrene, so ordinary cement for plastic models does not work on them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, and on larger mating surfaces a two-part adhesive helps. Cut the surplus material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and carefully sand the remainder down, so as not to damage the part itself. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, or the paint will not take hold well. The specific preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
