Replacement wheels for a model of the Mil Mi-26 Halo helicopter in 1:72 scale, with the tire flattened under the weight of the machine. An accessory to a kit; they will not make a model on their own.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mi-26, under the code name Halo, is one of the largest series-built helicopters. It is a heavy transport machine with wheeled landing gear, so the wheels are clearly visible on a model and their shape markedly influences how the whole machine looks on a stand. A parked helicopter has its tires visibly loaded by the weight of the fuselage, but the kit wheels tend to be perfectly round, so the finished machine looks as if it were barely touching the ground.
Replacement wheels for an Mi-26 model in 1:72 scale with the flattening of the tire modeled in. They replace the parts from the kit; the kit itself and the other parts of the landing gear are not included. The number of pieces in the package and the recommended kit are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before gluing, note which way the flattening points: it has to face down toward the base, otherwise the model looks unnatural. Fit the wheel therefore only once the landing gear legs have dried and let the model settle onto a flat board. The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic models does not hold on them; use cyanoacrylate. Cut the excess material and the traces of manufacture off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the remainder. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting. Do not paint the tire pure black, as a dark gray looks more faithful in scale, and set the hub apart separately.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
