An ejection seat is the first thing anyone who looks a finished model over close up sees in an open cockpit. This set offers a replacement for the seats from the box: it carries the designation Mk.10, it is in 1:72 scale and according to the name it belongs to the model of the Mirage aircraft by Special Hobby. It brings the cockpit the division and the shapes that the parts from the box manage only in simplified form, and it suits above all where you want to leave the canopy open.
The designation of the aircraft in the name is incomplete, so which version of the Mirage the set aims at does not follow from it. Before ordering, therefore, go by the manufacturer's part number 144RM72007, which identifies the item unambiguously. It is also worth checking the number of seats in the package, because a single-seat and a two-seat cockpit need a different number.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary cement for plastic will not join them, so count on cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little off the part and sand the remainder carefully so that the edges are preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly. Paint the seat separately, outside the fuselage, because in a closed cockpit you can no longer reach it: a dark wash settles the shadows between the structure and the padding, while a light dry brush pulls the edges out. Only then glue the finished seat in place and check whether the canopy seats properly. The particular layout and procedure are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
A set of parts is supplied. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
