Waterslide decals in 1:72 scale for models of the Nakajima E8N2 float biplane. It is a standalone accessory for finishing a model, not a kit, so the package contains no parts and no paints. Check the make-up of the markings and the number of machines covered against the illustration of the sheet on the packaging.
The Nakajima E8N was a Japanese two-seat reconnaissance single-float biplane with a pair of auxiliary floats under the wings. It was launched from the catapults of large surface ships, and its task was reconnaissance and the spotting of naval gunfire. The E8N2 version received a more powerful radial engine and became the main production variant. The machine served from the mid-1930s and its Allied code name was Dave. Because of their catapult role, these aircraft often carried prominent identification bands and the insignia of their parent ship.
An E8N2 model is small and very broken up, so the decals tend to be small and there are many of them. Have sharp tweezers with smooth jaws ready, a brush for sliding them into place and a dish of lukewarm water. Work one decal at a time and, before you reach for the next, let the previous one dry, or you will easily shift them with your sleeve. Watch out for the struts and the bracing wires between the wings: carry the decals clear of them and try the area out dry beforehand. On ribbed surfaces two applications of softener help, with the film left to dry in between. Apply the clear coat as a fine mist, so it does not flood the detail.
