1:72 Noorduyn Norseman Mk.IV Kabuki Masks For Dora Wings 72034 Kit

New Ware 1:72 Noorduyn Norseman Mk.IV Kabuki Masks

This masking set from New Ware is meant for a model of the Noorduyn Norseman Mk.IV in 1:72 scale. Its job is to keep the canopy glazing clean and to give the frames an even, sharply bounded coat of paint. The set does not take the place of a model; it is an accessory for the painting stage of the build, and the kit the cut is calculated for is given in the name of the item.

The Norseman as a subject

The Noorduyn Norseman was a Canadian single-engined high-wing aircraft designed to operate in the harsh conditions of the north. Its high wing, rugged landing gear and the option of putting the machine on floats or skis made it a typical representative of the bush plane category. During the Second World War the US Army Air Forces took large numbers of them over for liaison and transport duties, and many examples flew in civilian hands for decades after the war.

What to watch out for when masking

• Never polish the glazing with an aggressive compound before the mask goes on.
• Press the edges of the masks down with a wooden toothpick, not with a fingernail.
• Spray the inner shade of the frame first and the outer one after it.
• Remove any adhesive residue with a mild soapy solution.

Suitable for

• Collectors of transport and liaison machines of the Second World War.
• Modelers who build aircraft of Canadian and northern provenance.
• Builders of 1:72 models with large glazed areas.

This is a standalone accessory and the kit is not part of the delivery.
