This set from the Czech maker Eduard holds photo-etched brass parts for refining a plastic model of the American Curtiss P-36A Hawk fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not a stand-alone airplane kit but an accessory that raises the detail of the cockpit, the instrument panel, the belts and other areas. On sets of this kind the interior parts are usually color-printed and self-adhesive.
The product is intended for the Arma Hobby kit. That is bought separately.
The Curtiss P-36A Hawk was an American all-metal fighter of the late 1930s with a radial engine and retractable landing gear. It was the direct predecessor of the famous P-40, and in French and other service the aircraft of this family took part in the first fighting of the Second World War. The P-36 thus marks an interesting divide between the interwar and the wartime generation of fighters.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them in a bending tool. Glue the unpainted parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); press the color-printed self-adhesive elements into place. Degreasing and a primer help before metal is glued.
The set is supplied unassembled. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
