A set of self-adhesive masking templates from Eduard in 1:72 scale for models of the American twin-boom Lockheed P-38 Lightning fighter. The masks are accurately cut from yellow masking (kabuki) tape and serve for clean masking of the canopy glazing while painting.
The pre-cut shapes follow the frames of the cockpit canopy exactly, so a sharp boundary appears between the frame and the glass with no bleed. Kabuki tape adheres well even to rounded surfaces, paint does not run under it and once the work is done it can be removed without adhesive residue.
Lift the masks off the sheet with tweezers and lay them down dry, pressing the edges firmly. The inner areas of the glazing can be painted with the interior color before the masks are applied. After spraying, remove the masks while the paint is still fresh.
The templates include neither paint nor glue; this is an accessory for a separately sold plastic model.
