Injection-molded plastic kit of the American Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter in 1:72 scale from Academy. The model captures the later P-40 with the shorter nose and six heavy machine guns in the wings, with engraved panel lines, a detailed cockpit and clear canopy parts. The exact contents and markings depend on the particular boxing.
The P-40E was one of the most widely used American fighters of the early Second World War. It was powered by the liquid-cooled Allison V-1710 V12 engine and carried six heavy machine guns in the wings, which sets it apart from the early, more lightly armed P-40B Tomahawk. It served with the US Army Air Forces and with the Allies; in RAF service and in other countries it flew under the name Kittyhawk, among other places in North Africa against the Luftwaffe.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, fill the seams and sand them smooth. Paint the cockpit interior before you close up the fuselage. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals; the typical desert and Pacific schemes with the shark mouth are best finished with a panel line wash and light airbrushed wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
