P-47D Thunderbolt Eileen 1:72 from Academy - an injection-molded plastic kit of the massive American fighter of the Second World War in the razorback configuration and with decals for a specific machine.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter Republic P-47D Thunderbolt in 1:72 scale from Academy, in the release with decals for a specific machine carrying the name Eileen. The model captures the version with the framed canopy (razorback), it has an engraved surface, a cockpit, sturdy landing gear, clear glazing and decals. It is a well-buildable kit suitable for less experienced modelers too.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by the massive Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial of around 2000 horsepower, thanks to which the Thunderbolt excelled at high altitude and as a devastating attack aircraft. It was used in Europe as well as in the Pacific, where it proved itself escorting bombers and attacking ground targets. The version with the framed canopy preceded the later bubble canopy.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic. Finish the cockpit and pick it out with a wash before closing the fuselage. Mask the glazing for sharp frames. Spray the camouflage or the natural metal with an airbrush over a base primer; apply the decals of the machine Eileen onto a smooth gloss base so that no silvering edges appear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
