An injection-molded plastic kit of the single-seat North American P-51D-5 Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. The model comes from a new tool and offers a finely done surface with engraved panel lines. The decal sheet is devoted to aircraft of the 361st Fighter Group of the American Eighth Air Force. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package.
The P-51D was the definitive production version of the Mustang, famous for its teardrop canopy with its excellent view and for its six 12.7 mm machine guns. Thanks to the range the drop tanks gave it, it escorted heavy bombers deep over occupied Europe. The D-5 subversion was among the first production batches with the new canopy. The aircraft of the 361st Fighter Group, flying from England, were distinguished by their strikingly yellow-painted fuselage noses.
Cut the parts away with a thin cutter and glue the joints with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Before painting, it is advisable to spray the surface with a primer. The natural metal finish of the airframe comes out best with an airbrush; apply gloss varnish under the decals so that the edges do not silver.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
