A resin pilot seat with cast-in seat belts for the American North American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. It is an aftermarket detail part for the cockpit that will replace the simplified plastic seat from the base kit, not a standalone airplane model.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-engine fighter of the Second World War with a Packard V12 engine, a license-built version of the British Rolls-Royce Merlin. The P-51D version with its bubble canopy and excellent range became one of the best-known fighters escorting the bomber formations over Europe. A cockpit with a bubble canopy offers a good view of the pilot seat.
Resin parts call for more careful work than plastic: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting block (the gate) and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding and cutting small parts. Apply a primer before painting. Bring out the cast belts with shading and a fine dry brush; seat the seat dry and check its position before closing the cockpit.
