This accessory from the Czech maker Eduard, from its range of printed parts, brings a complete main landing gear bay for a model of the P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:72 scale. The part is made by direct 3D printing in resin and captures the ribbing, the piping and the structure of the inside of the wing bay faithfully, which injection-molded plastic usually simplifies in a small scale.
An open landing gear bay is clearly visible on a model with the gear extended, and its definition markedly raises the realism of the underside of the wing. 3D printing allows fine, deep detail with no parting lines. The accessory is intended for a plastic Mustang kit of the stated versions; it does not contain the model itself.
Separate the part carefully from the printed supports and sand the marks back gently. Bond with super glue. We recommend painting the inside of the bay separately, defining it with a dark wash and bringing out the edges with a dry brush so that the detail stands out.
This is a detail accessory; paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
