The 1:72 Pacific War part I figure set aims at the war in the Pacific and offers figures for scenes from the island battlefields. The numbering suggests that the line continues with the subject.

This item is not a kit of an aircraft or a vessel; they are human figures that are seated with a model or into a scene already prepared. It is exactly they that decide whether a cabinet shows only hardware or a situation. The part number in the name suggests that the manufacturer has divided the theme into several packages.
The Pacific battlefield of the Second World War stretched from coral atolls through volcanic islands to dense jungle. It was a setting with high humidity, fierce sun and exceptionally rapid wear of equipment. For modeling it is a rewarding theme: white sand, turquoise water and dark green give a scene a contrast of color that European battlefields will not offer.
A strongly lit setting invites work with light. It pays to paint from a dark base toward light peaks, so that the figure reads three-dimensionally even under the harsh lighting of a cabinet. Tropical clothing tends to be faded, so lighten the shades rather than not and leave soil and dust only on the boots and the hems of the trousers. Paint with heavily thinned color over several passes.
The package is meant to be painted. Count on the paints and the base as separate items.
