Replacement engine exhaust nozzles for a Panavia Tornado aircraft model in 1:72 scale. They replace the kit parts with a thinner wall and a finer shape.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Panavia Tornado is a combat aircraft developed jointly by Great Britain, Germany and Italy. It has a two-man crew seated one behind the other and a variable-sweep wing that sweeps back in flight. Power comes from two engines and their exhaust nozzles open at the rear of the fuselage. It is a place almost everyone looks at when examining a finished model, because the nozzles are deep, round and very much on show.
A kit nozzle tends to be thick-walled and shallow inside, because it cannot be made any other way in a mold. The replacement part solves exactly that: the edge is as thin as on the original and the inside has depth, so you can look into the nozzle. The set is built for both nozzles of the aircraft. The exact placement, any reworking of the rear fuselage and the recommended procedure are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Cut the original kit part away and level the mating surface on abrasive paper laid on a flat base. Try the new part dry first and only then glue it. Cut the excess material and the production marks away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; super glue holds on resin and on metal. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Paint the inside of the nozzle before you glue it in, as you cannot reach into it with a brush later.
Replacement nozzles are supplied. The aircraft kit, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
