1:72 Pe-2 exhaust is a resin exhaust set from the Quickboost brand: a replacement for the exhaust stubs of a model of the Petlyakov Pe-2 bomber in 1:72 scale.

This is not an aircraft kit but a resin accessory from the Quickboost brand. It replaces the exhaust stubs of both engines. In 1:72 scale these parts are really small and an injection mold manages them only as solid lumps, whereas a resin casting offers open mouths and a thin wall. The difference tells mainly because the exhausts sit on a strongly shaped engine nacelle, which the viewer has directly in the line of sight when looking at the model from above as well as from the side.
The Petlyakov Pe-2 was a Soviet twin-engine bomber of the period of the Second World War, used for dive attack and reconnaissance as well. It was powered by liquid-cooled engines of the Klimov line, whose exhaust gases were carried away by short stubs set in a row along the sides of the engine nacelles. The arrangement of the exhausts and the shape of the nacelles differed between individual production batches, which is a common reason why plastic parts from older tooling do not agree with photographs of particular machines.
In 1:72 scale a mistake in preparation shows more than a missing detail. Separate the castings from the casting block with a saw over a light surface, so that the small parts are not lost, and fine-tune the face with fine paper. After washing them free of mold release, paint them separately from the airframe: a dark base, then rusty and gray tones stippled on dry with a brush, and the mouths darkened. Apply the soot stains behind the exhausts on the nacelle with an airbrush and heavily thinned paint, otherwise they look overdone in a small scale. Glue with super glue at the end, after the nacelles have been varnished.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package. It is not a standalone model, because it requires a corresponding kit in 1:72 scale.
