Art Scale 1:72 Piaggio P.108B is a double-sided self-adhesive masking set for the glazed parts of a model of the Italian four-engine bomber from Special Hobby.

A masking accessory for building a model in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Art Scale. The set covers the clear areas of the glazing of the Special Hobby kit so that only the framing is left exposed while spraying. The version is double-sided, so the masks are intended for the outer and the inner side of the clear parts. On a large bomber that matters particularly: the glazing can be seen into, and framing painted from inside in the interior color comes across far more convincingly than bare clear plastic. It is not a kit or decals.
The Piaggio P.108B was an Italian four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War period and the only Italian machine of this class to be built in series. It had an all-metal structure, four radial engines and extensive glazing of the pilots compartment and of the forward fuselage. It is precisely the extent of the glazing that makes a model of this type a masking challenge, because there are many frames, they are narrow and they run in several directions. In 1:72 scale they are very difficult to follow by hand and any irregularity shows in the result at once.
Wash the glazed parts, degrease them and let them dry properly. Carry the masks with tweezers one at a time, seat them along the frame and press them down carefully, especially in the corners, where paint runs under most easily. Trim overhangs with a fresh blade exactly along the outline of the frame. On more extensive glazing it pays to work in sections and to keep checking whether any mask is sitting out of place. Apply the inner masks before the fuselage is closed up. Spray in several thin coats and take the mask off once the paint has flashed off, while the layer is still flexible.
It is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
