An injection-molded plastic kit of the Polish PZL.23B Karas light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft in 1:72 scale from the Polish manufacturer IBG. The box captures the early production version of this machine, which differs from the later series in details of its execution. It is a modern kit with fine surface engraving that will be appreciated by modelers of interwar and prewar aviation.
The PZL.23 Karas was a Polish single-engined low-wing aircraft of mixed construction, used as a light bomber and reconnaissance machine. Characteristic was the gondola under the fuselage for the lower gunner and observer. The Karas formed the backbone of the Polish bomber force and in September 1939 it took part in the defensive fighting against the German invasion as one of the main Polish combat machines. The early version corresponds to the earlier production series.
Bond the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic, filling and sanding the seams where needed. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush will help with even coverage of the surfaces and with any camouflage. The canopy glazing is a rewarding thing to mask, and small decals should be settled on a gloss clear coat with a decal softener. Emphasize the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
