A sheet of decals for a model of the PZL TS-11 Iskra jet trainer in 1:72 scale. These are stand-alone markings for a model, not a kit. The designation part 1 means that a second volume of the same series follows on from the set.
School and training aircraft tend to be marked conspicuously so they are easy to see. The work on a model goes with that: under bright colors and bold decals belongs a carefully smoothed surface, because every irregularity shows on a smooth area. Before varnishing, sand the model with a very fine abrasive and degrease it.

On trainers a colored band sprayed through a mask is often combined with a decal that continues it. The order is unambiguous: spraying and masks first, then gloss varnish, then the decals. The opposite order damages the decal, because masking tape pulls the film off along with the paint.
