Eduard Brassin 1:72 R-60 / AA-8 Aphid is a resin set of Soviet R-60 guided air-to-air missiles in 1:72 scale, with photo-etched parts and decals. It is a detail armament accessory, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin set from Eduard brings four faithfully rendered Soviet R-60 guided air-to-air missiles, AA-8 Aphid in the Western reporting name, in 1:72 scale. It combines resin castings with photo-etched parts for the fine fins and stabilizers and also contains decals with technical stenciling. It is not a model but an aftermarket accessory for the armament of Soviet fighters.
The R-60 (AA-8 Aphid) is a light Soviet short-range air-to-air guided missile with infrared guidance. It armed a range of aircraft such as the MiG-21, MiG-23, MiG-29 and Su types and was the typical weapon for close air combat. Thanks to its low weight it was carried in numbers.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts and separate them from the casting blocks. Bond both the thin photo-etched parts and the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Try the position of the missiles dry before gluing them to the racks. Apply the decals onto a smooth gloss varnish. Protect your airways while sanding.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
