A set of decals for a model of the four-engine Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport aircraft in Royal Air Force service. It is an accessory to a finished kit, not the model itself.
The Hercules is a turboprop transport machine with a high-set wing, a cargo ramp at the rear and landing gear adapted for operating from unpaved surfaces. The Royal Air Force has operated it for a long time and in several versions differing in fuselage length and equipment. That is exactly why decals are worth dealing with separately on it: one machine serves for years, changes both unit and finish, and the choice of markings tends to be richer than what a kit puts in the box.
Spray the model first and let it cure thoroughly, then seal the area under the decals with gloss varnish. Soak the decal briefly, let it release from the paper and move it into place; blot off the surplus water so that none stays under the film. Large elements on the fuselage of a Hercules cross a number of joints and transitions, and there a softener applied drop by drop will help; let it dry without touching it. Seal the finished markings with varnish in the degree of gloss the final surface of the machine is to have.
The manufacturer makes several similar decal sheets for the Hercules and they differ in extent and in the version of the subject. Choose by the exact designation of the set in the name. These are decals; the kit, paints and varnishes are not included in the package.
