1:72 ROKAF KF-21 Decal Set 3, Flight Test Type 003 - Sacheon 2023 (For Academy 12585)

The markings of test KF-21 number 003 in 1:72 scale

The product is a sheet with decal markings, not an aircraft kit. It relates to the third prototype of the South Korean combat aircraft as it was to be seen in 2023, and in the order of sets released it is the third part. The airframe of the model has to be obtained separately, as this item does not contain it. The target kit is Academy 12585.

The Korean KF-21 program

The KF-21 is a new combat aircraft being developed for the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF) as a replacement for older equipment. The test machines differ from the production form in their color scheme and in additional measuring equipment, so they hold a special charm for modelers. Each of the prototypes moreover carries its own numbers and lettering, thanks to which it can be told which airframe it is, and that is exactly what makes a series of sets meaningful.

How to work with the sheet

• Prepare a smooth and fully cured finish on the airframe.
• Lay out the placement of the elements before the first transfer.
• Lay large areas down at once and smooth them outward from the center.
• Once dry, unify the surface so that the edges are not noticeable.
• Mask the clear parts before you start on the final varnish.

Who the set is for

It will appeal to those who follow new combat aircraft and like having a machine in the display case that is not commonly seen. It will also serve collectors well who are putting together a whole series of test airframes from one program and need references for the individual machines. Paints and varnish are not part of the delivery.
