A resin detail set, not an airplane kit. The set of finely cast resin replaces the radial engines of the American carrier-based Grumman S2F-1 Tracker anti-submarine aircraft (later designated the S-2), in 1:72 scale. The type was powered by air-cooled Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines. The castings bring a faithful rendering of the cylinders and the ignition harness, which the base plastic handles in a simplified way. The set is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
The engines in the nacelles are clearly visible through the cowlings, and their fidelity markedly lifts the impression of a model. The resin castings have a finer structure of the radial than the plastic parts, and once painted in metallic shades with a patina they read realistically. They replace the simplified parts of the base kit.
This is a resin detail accessory, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
