Eduard 1:72 SBD Dauntless masks is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the cockpit glazing and wheels of a carrier bomber model. It is not a model but an accessory that makes painting easier.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory that makes masking for spraying easier and more accurate.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the long cockpit glazing and onto the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires free of paint. Kabuki tape conforms well to curved shapes, holds tight and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The divided glazing of the two-seat cockpit therefore comes out with sharp, straight frames without cutting tape by hand.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was an American carrier dive bomber of the navy in the Second World War. It became famous above all at the Battle of Midway, where its dive attacks decided the sinking of the Japanese aircraft carriers. It was powered by a radial engine, and its recognition feature was the perforated dive brakes on the wings.
The set contains only the cut-out masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
