1:72 Seafire L Mk.IIc is a photo-etched accessory set for a plastic kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. Photo-etched parts in thin sheet replace and supplement detail that cannot be cast in injected plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker Brengun. It is not a kit and you will not build an aircraft from it: it is cut for one particular plastic kit, Sword 72040, and assumes you already have it. Photo-etched metal is an order of magnitude thinner than injected plastic, so everything that should be thin sheet or wire on the real machine looks substantially truer once it is replaced.
The Seafire Mk.IIc was the carrier version of the Spitfire adapted for operation from aircraft carriers. It received an arrestor hook, a strengthened airframe structure and equipment for naval service. The letter L in the designation means that the machine was powered by a V12 engine tuned for performance at low altitude, which matched typical duties over the sea. The wing designated by the letter c carried a mixed gun armament.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface rather than with nippers, as cutting warps the etched metal. Make the bends in a photo-etch bending tool or between two blades, always along the whole length at once, otherwise a ripple forms. Degrease the sheet with alcohol before gluing and do not leave fingerprints on it; both the glue and the paint will then hold. Make the joints with super glue in a small amount, as ordinary modeling cement for plastic does not react with metal.
This is an accessory set, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
