The Polish brand IBG models offers a 3D printed set of seamless air intakes for the Fw 190D-9 in 1:72 scale; the exact application of the set is described by its full name. The printed duct is made in one piece, so there is no gluing of halves and no cleaning up of a seam in a place that sandpaper can practically not reach. The result is a clean view into the intake even seen close up.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9, called the Dora among pilots, represented the high-altitude evolution of the famous fighter: it was given the inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 engine and a lengthened nose with an annular radiator. At the close of the war it belonged among the best piston machines of the Luftwaffe and covered, among other things, the takeoffs of jet fighters. The air intake for the supercharger is a prominent shape feature on the Dora that deserves a faultless rendering.
Wash the printed parts in lukewarm water with detergent, sand the contact surfaces once the supports are separated and spray the inside of the duct in a light shade before building it into the fuselage. You will then unify the outer surface with a primer together with the rest of the airframe, so that the join disappears completely.
