Injection-molded plastic kit of the German self-propelled gun built on the VOMAG truck chassis and armed with the famous 8.8 cm Flak gun, in 1:72 scale from Roden. The kit offers a finely engraved surface, a detailed chassis with the gearbox and axles, openable cab doors and extras such as mesh and a clear windshield. It is a rare subject for collectors.
In 1940 the Vomag company, which built trucks for the Wehrmacht, received an order for a heavy mobile anti-aircraft vehicle able to carry the 8.8 cm Flak gun on a chassis of its own. Only a handful were completed, and they served with an anti-aircraft regiment. The versatile 88 proved itself not only against aircraft but also as a feared anti-tank weapon.
Cut the small parts off and clean them up carefully, and glue the joints with thin cement for plastic; fit the mesh and the clear windshield only once the painting is done. Paint the chassis and the interior of the cab before you close it up. Follow the Dunkelgelb base with a wash in the engraved detail and light dust effects with pigments; blend the gun barrel together with subtle shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
