This is a resin detail accessory from Aires, not an airplane model. The set replaces the seats from a plastic kit with faithfully cast SJU-17 ejection seats of the kind used in the later carrier-based F-14D and F/A-18F aircraft. The castings carry fine relief of the harness, the buckles and the cushions, and once painted they markedly enliven the cockpit.
The SJU-17 seat belongs to the family of so-called common naval ejection seats and allows an emergency escape from the aircraft across a wide range of speeds and altitudes. It appeared in upgraded carrier-based fighter and multirole aircraft of the US Navy.
Separate the parts from the casting blocks, wash them to remove the mold release agent and bond them with super glue. Airbrush painting is advisable, with the harness and the buckles brought out with a brush and the detail supported by a fine wash.
The set is a detail accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
