1:72 Soviet Militia 1941

Soviet militia 1941 (1:72, Zvezda)

A set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale from Zvezda in the Art of Tactic range. It represents the Soviet militia of 1941. The box contains 5 figures and a base with a flag for gaming use. The parts join by tabs (snap-fit), with no need for glue.

The real subject

The militia (people's volunteer corps) was formed in 1941 from volunteers among workers and civilians, who reinforced the regular army in the defense of the cities. It was marked by a mixture of civilian and military clothing and by varied weapons. The figures show men in more civilian dress with rifles.

Building and painting tips

Separate the figures from the sprue and secure the tabs with a drop of glue if you wish. We recommend a primer base and a more varied palette of civilian and military shades, which will underline the mixed look of the militia. Bring the details to life with drybrushing and a thin wash.

Who the set is for

• For players of the Art of Tactic turn-based game and other 1:72 systems.
