A resin exhaust for the Spitfire F Mk.22 1:72 from Aires/Quickboost. A detail replacement for the exhaust stacks with hollow outlets, for a more faithful engine area.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the aircraft aftermarket maker Aires/Quickboost is a resin replacement for the exhaust stacks of a model of the Spitfire F Mk.22 fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane kit, but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic exhausts from the base kit with more finely cast parts, usually with suggested hollow outlets. The exhausts are among the clearly visible elements along the sides of the engine cowling.
The Supermarine Spitfire F Mk.22 was a late, postwar form of the famous British fighter, powered by the powerful Griffon engine. The protruding rows of exhaust stacks are clearly noticeable on it and are worth rendering in detail on a model.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Painting the exhausts in shades of burnt metal and bringing them out with rust and soot works well; the hollow outlets stand out once the inside is darkened.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
