Eduard Brassin 1:72 Spitfire Mk.IX cockpit is a resin set of a complete cockpit, which replaces the interior from the kit on Spitfire Mk.IX models.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a model of an airplane but a detail accessory in resin from the manufacturer Eduard. The set replaces the complete cockpit of Spitfire Mk.IX models in 1:72 scale. It holds the tub of the cockpit, the instrument panel, the seat and the side details, filled out with photo-etched parts. Variants of the instrument panel for the Mk.IXc and Mk.IXe versions tend to be part of it.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most important fighter aircraft of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War, armed with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine of the 60 series as an answer to the German Fw 190. The tubular frame of the cockpit with the characteristic instrument panel is well visible under the sliding canopy, which is why sharpening it noticeably raises the realism of a model.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent because of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the surfaces with protection of the airways, and glue the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Bend the photo-etched elements over an edge. The interior of the Spitfire is usually sprayed in the RAF Interior Grey-Green, filled out with taut belts and the instruments by means of decals.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted; these are parts in resin and photo-etch for filling a plastic model out. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
